Explosives Cache

A break down of the team's explosives and their use.

weapon (ranged)

Each listing title contains the amount of each item the team posess and those items’ total weight in brackets.

-2x Satchel Charges (48lbs)

Satchel charges are timed demolition charges of Tetrytol plastic explosives. A single satchel charge is capable of turning a 4 story building into a heap of rubble or gutting the inside of a large concrete bunker. They’re typically detonated using time pencils hooked to a short legnth of primacord or a grenade type blasting cap.

-Plastic Explosives – 200x Nobel 808 Cylinders (200lbs)

Plastic explosives dont really need an explanation. 808’s putty-like consistency enables it to be used tactically. Small amounts can be used to make improvised grenades or pipe bombs. Large amounts make effective demolition charges or car bombs. It’s a favourite of the saboteur.

-20x TNT Blocks (20lbs)
TNT Blocks (20lbs)
TNT also doesn’t need much introduction. During WW2 it was issued in 1/2lb or 1lb tins with a presculpted indentation for a fuse or detonator. Though it lacks 808s flexibility of use, TNT is slightly more powerful. 20lbs is enough to quite literally blow a 40ton Tiger tank to smithereens. Time Pencils or electric Detonator Caps are used to trigger it.

-18x Thermite Bomb (45lbs)
Thermite charge

-100 Detonator Caps (4lbs)
Blasting caps act as explosive detonators. They either have a mechanical trigger like that of a grenade or are electrically fired using fuse wire and a hand operated exploder.

-1000’ x2 spools primacord(23lbs)
Primalcord is a type of explosive cord it can be used on its own or as a fuseline to trigger one or more explosive charges in sequence.

-48 No. 9 time pencils (10, 60, 6hr, 12 hr) (1lb)
“Time Pencils” are small copper tubes containing a spring loaded detonator which is held back by a thin magnesium wire. At the end of the tube is a glass phial containing acid. When the operator wishes to activate the detonator, he crimps or crushes the phial within using pliers, the acid flows into the rest of the tube and begins desolving the magnesium wire. When it eats through wire, the sping fires, detonating the attached explosives. Demolition times are rounded to the nearest minute as the acid dosen’t always eat through the wire at a constant rate. Due to the fragility of the acid phial, knocks or bumps are capable of arming the detonator prematurely.

-6x 30’spool Fuse (6lbs)
fuse spool
Six reels of ignitable fuse wire used for delayed detonation of blasting caps. It can be lit via match or Time Pencil. (Picture just for formatting, I’m sure you get the idea.)

-10 detonator Exploder (8lbs)

-30 detonator Exploder (15 lbs)
The exploder is the WW2 equivalent of the classic TNT plunger. In this case it is a hand cranked dynamo capable of giving a careless operator a nasty electric shock. Twisting the handle after cranking completes the circuit to the fuse wire and triggers the explosives.
